About MMT

About Me

MMT is highest-quality, science-based music therapy services delivered by Sam Brodsgaard, M.A., MT-BC, Music Therapist–Board Certified.  I am currently making a difference in the lives of people in addictions treatment centers, with patients receiving hospice care, and in older adult communities in Dallas/Fort Worth and the Texas Hill Country.  Click here to see what clients and their families say about individual and group music therapy sessions with me.

I hold a degree in Vocal Performance from Southern Methodist University, as well as a Master of Arts in Music Therapy from Texas Woman’s University.  I have sung professionally since age 18, performing as a concert soloist with several Texas symphony orchestras, including the Las Colinas, Metrocrest, Garland, Waco, and Arlington Symphonies. Other notable appearances include guest soloist for the Van Cliburn Concert Series, as well as several diverse roles at Casa Manana Theater.

While pursuing a professional singing career and a master’s degree in music therapy, I taught private voice lessons for several area schools, including Booker T. Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts in Dallas, and Carroll Senior High School in Southlake.  I completed my music therapy training in 2008 at MusicWorx of California in San Diego, working with world-renown music therapist Barbara Reuer, and founded MMT in January 2009.

Please feel free to contact me for more information about my services, or to schedule a music therapy assessment.
